The insurance industry seems trapped in decades-old systems and “pen and paper” applications (hey, we love analogue stuff, too, but insurance needs to get with the times). We aim to make the process of buying small business insurance quicker, easier, and painless for our clients.

Full Stack Software Engineer
As a Software Engineer, Fullstack, you will work with the founders alongside other backend engineers. You will design and oversee the development of new features, enhance the user experience, and optimize the product for scalability.
Other than working on the codebase and infrastructure, you will take part in the product road map and setting up the right processes to help us scale the product. Your ideas, feedback, and critique are highly important to us.
Responsibilities:
- Fullstack development (.Net Core)
- Proficiency in React/Redux, Express, Webpack
- Design and development of REST APIs
- Planning, scaling, and deploying application on AWS and related cloud infrastructure
- Third party API integration (Hubspot, Twilio, Typeform, Formspree, Calendly)
- Design, test, deploy and maintain codebase
Minimum qualifications:
- You write clean, testable and maintainable code
- Proficient with .Net Core Framework
- Experience designing REST APIs
- Good eye for UI design and UX
- Experience designing scalable systems
- Ability to readily learn most technologies on-the-go
- Ability to thrive in an fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy
- Verbal and written English fluency

Business Development Manager
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the overall team and individual performance as related to obtaining revenue goals and business objectives. This will include identifying KPIs and key activities as well as addressing any corrective measures that promote team and individual success and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor real-time outbound and inbound sales performance and address any areas of concern.
- Participate in product development activities and testing.
- Assist Business Development Rep to negotiate new business terms with market underwriters.
- Identify new target classes for new marketing campaigns.
- Assist in developing various online Marketing Initiatives.
- Report, track, and manage sales activities and results.
- Ensure ongoing improvements and feedback are included and presented to the entire team.
- Develop processes for tracking and documenting sales team activities.
- Provide input to the development of annual sales targets, performance metrics, recognition programs, compensation programs/bonus and KPIs.
- Attend various industry events to represent Boardwalk Insurance to obtain market insight for the team.
Minimum qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales
- Management experience required and previous experience in a call center environment an asset.
- RIBO Licensed preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of call center performance metrics in an Outbound and Inbound sales structure.
- Experience with fundamental financial analysis (cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit, etc.)
- Solid organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Strong understanding of P&C insurance products.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent business experience is ideal.

Business Development Representative
A Business Development Representative at Boardwalk Insurance is about creating and maintaining relationships with our Insurance partners and customers. We are looking for seasoned sales professionals specifically in the Toronto region.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new relationships from inbound leads and strategic outreach.
- Identify target prospects for new outbound campaigns.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with market underwriters.
- Meet target quota of qualified opportunities, value of sales pipeline, and closed business.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our products and services (insurance and technology) and speak with business owners about the most relevant coverages/features/functionality for their specific business needs
- Monitor performance and identify trends in Boardwalk Insurance adoption and provide guidance to Business clients as part of their periodic Success Review.
Minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience selling P&C insurance
- Self-motivated; entrepreneurial spirit
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written)
- Aptitude to learn technical concepts/terms
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously

Customer Experience Representative
A Customer Experience Representative at Boardwalk Insurance will maintain and build relationships with our Insurance partners and customers. They will handle customer and underwriter requests professionally and efficiently. Document customer transactions and manage invoices. Create a variety of insurance documents and provide to the customer or third parties.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve customer inquiries and requests
- Provide quick and accurate service
- Collaborate with the sales team with onboarding new customers
- Work directly with other departments and co-workers to build productive internal working relationships to effectively resolve customer-raised issues
- Maintain up to date client files/records
- Gain knowledge and understanding of commercial insurance coverages, practices and policies
Minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience servicing P&C insurance
- Self-motivated; entrepreneurial spirit
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written)
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer and multitasking skills
- Aptitude to learn technical concepts/terms
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Capable of identify workflow inefficiency and redundancies
